APPLY OIL If you have dry hair, especially near the ends, don’t panic. Oil to the rescue! Apply a nickel size amount of good quality hair oil, usually something with argan, to your ends before you get your beauty sleep. Give the oil plenty of time to work its magic in order to wake up flawless. Even Beyonce will be jealous.
BED BUN Styling your hair in a high bun is another way to get beautiful waves with minimal effort. Use a scrunchy to secure your topknot, instead of an elastic, to avoid awkward hair creases.
PINEAPPLING If you have natural hair, you know too well that the struggle is sometimes very real. To wake up with intact, springy curls all you need is a silk scarf. Gather your hair at the top of your head and tie a silk scarf around the base. This is called pineappling because the top of your head will kind of look like a pineapple.
COCONUT OIL TREATMENT Your hair deserves a little pampering every now and then. Once a week give it a coconut oil treatment. Saturate your hair, from roots to end, with coconut oil and tie up in a topknot. The next morning, wash your hair two to three times to rinse out all the oil. If you’ve never used coconut oil before you will be so amazed at how soft and silky your hair feels.
DRY SHAMPOO Most people use dry shampoo in the morning when showering is not high on their priority list. However, if you use dry shampoo at night it looks way more natural the next day. Spray a generous amount to your roots and go to bed. When you wake up you will have greaseless, voluminous hair. It’s really that easy!
BYE-BYE FRIZZ Beating that unruly frizz can be easier than you think. Apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner to damp hair at night, then twist hair into a loose bun. In the morning shake it out and marvel at your frizz-free, beautiful hair.
KEEP IT UP
Don’t let your hair down just yet. It’s actually better if you sleep with your hair up, rather than down. Whether it’s in a braid, a loose bun, or wrapped with bobby pins, you will experience less breakage with your hair secure.
BRUSH IT You don’t have to do 100 strokes every night, sorry Grandma, but it is very beneficial to brush your hair before bed. Use a wide tooth comb to brush from the roots to the ends, gently working through knots. This helps distribute the natural oil from your scalp throughout the rest of your hair.
