CNS News.com reported on the incidence

******************************************************************************

A Kansas City, Kansas mother and grandmother are facing child abuse and neglect charges, after authorities allege the mother poured scalding hot water mixed with bleach onto her two-year old daughter.

“You can’t even think about it,” said Scott Lundgren, the victim’s uncle told  WDAF-TV, “How someone could do this is just amazing.  There’s not even words for it.”

The girl’s brother and sister told relatives about the incident that happened earlier this month. Those relatives contacted authorities.

When confronted, 25 year-old Katie Grimes said, “It’s bad, but it’s none of your business,” according to court documents obtained by WDAF-TV.

The child suffered skin burns and is receiving treatment.

The two year-old’s grandmother is facing charges in the incident because it’s alleged she was home at the time her granddaughter was burned and did nothing to help the child.

Atheist Group’s Complaint Backfires, Lands Nativity In Full Public View

December 15, 2014 – 5:03 PM

(CNSNews.com) — When the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) went after a city council in Jay, Fla., for displaying a nativity set on public property, the atheist group might have won a battle, but seems to have lost the war.

The FFRF, known for protesting any and all religious displays in public places, sent a complaint letter recently to local officials in the 526-person city of Jay, arguing against the life-sized nativity that had been set up on the site every Christmas for nearly 40 years, the group said in a press release.

In a letter sent to the city’s mayor, FFRF attorney Andrew Seidel alleged, “It is unlawful for the town to maintain, erect, or host a holiday display that consists solely of a nativity scene, thus singling out, showing preference for, and endorsing one religion.” He added there are “ample private and church grounds where religious displays may be freely placed.”

In response to the group’s complaints, the city council declared the nativity set surplus property and sold it to the Santa Rosa County Ministerial Association, thus removing it from public property.

The FFRF’s co-president, Dan Barker, praised the city council’s decision as “divesting the town of a divisive display.”

But the town has not been deprived of the nativity, reports the American Pastors Network. In fact, after the ministerial association purchased the nativity, they then placed the huge Christian display on private property near one of the busiest parts of the small town, reports the American Pastors Network.

“It now stands at a busy corner at the town’s main stop light—ironic, say nativity supporters, because many more people will see it there,” the APN said in a news release, adding that the more prominent display shows the citizens of Jay “have no intention of removing the real meaning of Christmas from public display.”

The APN said the complaint was just the latest in a continued attack on religious freedom by groups like the FFRF.

“Anyone who actually takes time to study our nation’s history and read the writings of our founders—not the interpretations of those writings written two hundred years later—knows that religious liberty and the acknowledgement of Almighty God as the source of that liberty are the bulwark of our nation,” said APN President Sam Rohrer in the release. “Threats like these against towns that want to display nativities are a blatant attack on our God-given and constitutionally protected freedoms.”

“The truth remains that public displays of the nativity scene on government property in no way violate the Constitution. FFRF’s attempts to stifle religious liberty, however, do,” he added.

According to the APN, a similar nativity placed by a local government in the nearby town of Century, Fla., also came under attack from the FFRF. That nativity was also bought by a church and placed on private property.

A third nativity display in Brookville, Ind., is still standing despite the FFRF’s attempts to force the local government to remove it, the group added.

“Brookville is going a step further and ignoring FFRF’s letters and instead rallying around its nativity,” APN reported in the press release, adding the town held a candlelight walk last weekend to show support for the nativity scene.

The Revolution – History Of Irena Sendler

******************************************************************************

This woman was truly a hero!!!

REMEMBER THIS LADY!!!

Look at this lady - Let us never forget!
The world hasn't just become wicked...it's always been wicked.
The prize doesn't always go to the most deserving.

Irena Sendler
Died 12 May 2008 (aged 98)
Warsaw, Poland

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a plumbing/sewer specialist.

She had an 'ulterior motive'.

She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.

Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

She was not selected.

President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as a community organizer for ACORN

and

Al Gore won also --- for a slide show on Global Warming.

In MEMORIAM - 63 YEARS LATER

I'm doing my small part by forwarding this message.

I hope you'll consider doing the same...

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.

This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated!

Now, more than ever, with Iran, and others, claiming the HOLOCAUST to be 'a myth'.

It's imperative to make sure the world never forgets, because there are others who would like to do it again.

Ben Stein Takes A Stand About Merry Christmas And More

******************************************************************************

I will put this notice on my post from now on, every time that I copy a post from Facebook, so all of my readers will know that this is not my work, but that of someone else. This, like so many of my posts have, came from Facebook.  I hope you like the stand that Ben Stein has taken on the politically correctness or incorrectness of the two words Merry Christmas.

******************************************************************************

Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year, which prompted CBS presenter, Ben Stein, to present this piece which I would like to share with you.

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejewelled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu. If people want a nativity scene, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorist attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.
Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it.... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what a bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

My reply to the preceding was the following:

I have felt like this ever since the Madeleine Murray O’Hare ruling was passed to take prayer out of school. But what could I do? I was only a child then. One of the innocent victims of the horrid crime against God. We all know the resulting snowball effect and the now approaching avalanche of things related to God and religion that are being taken away from us Christians. I just wish there was some way to stop it. My prayer right now is that this post by Ben Stein will go viral and then maybe things will start reversing and the OLD AMERICA that I knew as a child before the Madeleine Murray O’Hare ruling will come back. It will take a miracle, but God deals in miracles for those that believe in Him everyday. Thank you Ben Stein for taking this stand even though you are of the Jewish faith. You are a great man for doing it. I’m not only praying for a miracle, I am trusting God to deliver one in His own perfect time.

******************************************************************************

Why didn’t anyone tell me I was wrong?

I just came across this on my Facebook and thought it should be shared. Maybe someone will read it and have a chance to save a child’s life. If even one life is saved due to this post, then it will have been worth it to have shared it. Please share this however you can.

Why didn’t anyone tell me I was wrong?

Have you ever seen someone do something that you know was wrong but were too afraid to tell them? For instance…. let’s say you know a good bit about car seats and you see a lady in the Wal-Mart parking lot that has her child in a forward facing car seat and you know that child should still be rear facing and buckled in properly. You don’t know her so you decide it’s best not to interfere because your scared she may get upset or think your crazy.

Cameron all buckled in the WRONG way!

WRONG

I can NOT stress this enough….TELL THEM HOW TO FIX IT!!! I was that mom… the one placing her child, the most important thing to her, in the car seat wrong. I was that mom that would share pictures like the one above on social media sites and never was corrected. I was that mom that would allow friends and family to take my children places and assumed they were safe in the car. I was that mom that would put hundreds of miles on the car without a care in the world assuming everything was perfect until…………..

holly 2311

it was too late.

It only takes a second for your life to change.

holly 2271holly 2344

My son was 11 months and 27 days old when my (now EX) boyfriend ran a stop sign. My perfect little baby went through the windshield……. and was found dead in a ditch. He was resuscitated and spent 16 days in ICU. 8 surgeries in the first three days…. his brain was damaged beyond repair. It would not allow his body to absorb any nutrients and my child was starving himself to death. I had two choices….

1:Let him starve …. or

2:Remove life support

I had to make a choice.

May 13, 2013 Cameron grew his wings.

Now, I’m that mom who doesn’t sleep at night. I’m that mom who spends most of her shopping trips avoiding the baby boy clothes. I am the mom that has learned from her mistakes.

I AM THAT WOMAN THAT WILL TELL YOU YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG!!!!

And you know why??

…..because I wish every single day of my life now that someone would have told me I was doing it wrong BEFORE it was too late.

First Mule Ever Makes It to the US Dressage Finals

Laura Hermanson and Heart B Dyna bray in the faces of anyone who thinks dressage is elitist.

When Laura Hermanson received an email saying she was long-listed to compete at Training Level in the US Dressage Finals in Lexington, Kentucky, she halfway thought it was a joke.

2331050_1412784687.2871

She had been showing mules for the past three years, and she was campaigning her own molly mule Heart B Dyna toward making it to the USDF regional finals in California.

But the USEF has only allowed mules in competition since 2004, and a mule has never competed at the US Dressage Finals.

But a few weeks later, she received another email. Dyna had been bumped up from the waitlist, and was officially qualified. It was a dream come true… but Laura called the USDF juuuust to be sure.

“You know this is a mule, right?” she asked.

A pause. A shuffle of papers.

“Finally, they said yes!” says Laura. “And I knew I had to find a way to make it happen.”

Laura and 12-year-old Dyna have come a long way since they first met in 2006. Laura, a dressage trainer at Oak Star Ranch, had the idea to buy a mule with the gaits for dressage after a client’s mule really challenged her as a rider and a horsewoman, changing her skills for the better.

“It’s hard to pinpoint what makes them so special,” she continues. “Everything with them is like a horse, just amplified. Their power of retention is amazing, so the biggest trouble is reiterating something too much. You just have to be very accurate and fair… and you need a sense of humor because their dads are donkeys! They just have a piece of them that says, ‘nope, I’m not doing that today.’”

Seemingly, dressage would be the perfect discipline for an equine that demands an accurate ride. But Dyna didn’t think so at first.

“Dyna was a very, very tricky-minded creature, but very talented and very athletic,” says Laura, “I had to learn all these disciplines with her. I tried jumping; I tried cutting with her. Dressage has always been my background, and I knew there was probably going to be a time when I could focus on that exclusively with her, but with mules you have to be in it for the long haul, since they take a long time to mature.”

While riding mules isn’t too rare in California, at dressage shows other competitors were initially skeptical of Laura’s unconventional mount. But when her client horses and Dyna did well, their doubts subsided. Laura has gotten comments like “Great relaxation of the ears” on dressage tests!

But she didn’t trust her old truck and trailer to make it all the way from Madera, California, to Lexington. The cost of shipping Dyna across the country was daunting, and that was before hotel, rental car, vet and show costs. So Laura talked to a friend who worked in the movie business, and learned about GoFundMe as a means to bring the first mule ever to the US Dressage Finals. She surpassed her goal of $8,000 in little over two weeks.

“It’s been unbelievable. This was the first time I’ve ever really had to ask for help, especially financially—but it’s just grown kindness breeding kindness, and opened up a community of people I didn’t even know existed.”

She has gotten donations from all kinds of mule supporters, from the owners of Dyna’s full brother to complete strangers with plow mules.

“Dressage has the reputation of being elitist. And I’m living proof that’s not true. I’m riding a mule for goodness sakes!” Laura laughs. “It goes to show that anyone can do this. If you have a dream, you can do it.”

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Laura, and best of luck to you and Dyna next week!

Go Riding.

High School Boy Builds Own Tiny Home

The project started when Austin’s high school asked to do a research project on anything they were passionate about. Austin decided to look into building a tiny house, a trend he had seen growing. After investigating, Austin, who was then a high school sophomore, was inspired to construct his own.

His parents and grandfather knew he was serious when he came home with a trailer to start building on. The trailer, which he bought used, cost $2000. Austin used the money that he made working at two summer jobs, one at a camp and the other at a park snack bar. Soon, Austin had built a frame and a roof for his home.

Austin then began to work more on the inside of the house.

He built a loft for his bed, which would allow more space for everything else in the house.
Then he built his own closet, with enough storage space for his shirts, hats, shorts, and other things.
He found many of the parts he needed for the home by going to junk yards and scavenging. These parts include the doors, windows, flooring, and even the kitchen sink.
The stove/oven was a gift, however, from “Santa” for Christmas. It was exactly the one that Austin wanted.  He’s cooked eggs on it and even baked cookies in it.
The tiny home includes a full working bathroom with running hot and cold water for the shower…
…and a composting toilet.
For the living area, Austin built the couch himself. It is wood with a foam pad on top. This couch can even be turned into an extra bed for guests!
Austin finished building his home in his senior year of high school. To celebrate, he had an open house to show off his fantastic place to friends and family as well as help others interested in tiny homes learn how to make their own.
In total, Austin’s tiny home took several years to complete and cost about $12,000, part of which he raised through donations. Austin is very happy with the result. The home is parked in his parents’ backyard, but Austin put it on wheels for a reason. He would like to bring it to whereever he ends up attending college. Even further in the future, he plans to continue living in it after he graduates.
Watch the video for the full story and to see more of this awesome tiny home. You’ll also see the reactions from his family and friends, including a very touching interview with his proud grandfather.

Here’s a List of 10 Companies Who Are Boycotting “Christmas”… Now Boycott THEM

As many of my readers probably know by now, I am a Christian. If you were unaware of that before, you now know it. As such I have very strong opinions about anything non-Christian, or against Christian beliefs and practices. This being the case, this article on the Conservative Tribune really caught my eye. I don’t know if they are a totally trusted Newspaper Company or not. But I am copying the article for you to read and make your own decision as to what action to take. Will you continue to patronize the companies on the “naughty” list, or boycott them during the Christmas season? The decision is totally up to you. All I am going to do is make the article available for you to read.

Here’s a List of 10 Companies Who Are Boycotting “Christmas”… Now Boycott THEM

Thursday, November 20th, 2014

Have you grown sick and tired of national retail chains bowing to the very small anti-Christmas minority?

If so, then take a good look at the list below.

The American Family Association has released their annual “Naughty-or-Nice” list that categorizes retailers and how they approach the Christmas season. (H/T The Blaze)

Some of the names that made the “nice” list are well known companies such as Walmart, J.C. Penney, Kmart, and Macy’s. Others fell into a “marginal” list, meaning that they rarely or infrequently referred to Christmas, including Best Buy, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens and Whole Foods.

Then we have the “naughty” list below. These seemingly anti-Christmas companiesmake almost no reference to the Christmas holiday and don’t recognize it as a company. Big mistake, if you ask us.

Check out the list of anti-Christmas companies below:

1. Barnes & Noble – “Company may use ‘Christmas’ sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.”

2. Family Dollar – They open their doors on Christmas morning. Who does that? It obviously shows they’re more about profit than the family.

3. Foot Locker – They use the term ‘Christmas’ sparingly and as a company they don’t recognize it.

4. Limited Brands – “Company may use ‘Christmas’ sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.”

5. Maurice’s – “Company may use ‘Christmas’ sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.”

6. Office Depot – “Company may use ‘Christmas’ sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.”

7. Office Max – Since they are now owned by Office Depot, they too fall into the “naughty” category.

8. Pets Mart – The American Family Association have decided to completely boycott this chain for Christmas, as should you.

9. Staples – “Company may use ‘Christmas’ sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.”

10. Victoria’s Secret – “Company may use ‘Christmas’ sparingly in a single or unique product description, but as a company, does not recognize it.”

The companies that made the notorious list above are otherwise highly-shopped companies and no doubt we’ve all purchased from one of them in the past. But if you believe in traditional family values and celebrate Christmas, boycotting these companies for the Christmas season is something you should consider.

They need to be shown that a majority of Americans will hit them where it hurts for attempting to censor Christmas.

There’s nothing worse than a retailer who’s afraid to use the actual word, “Christmas” and instead substitutes it with the word “holiday,” in hopes of not offending Muslims and other non-Christians and atheists.

When You Hear What This 94 Year Old Grocery Bagger Got On His Last Day, You’ll Be Shocked. Tissues!

Arthur St. John is a 94-year-old bagger at a grocery store, but after 22 years of carefully and cheerfully arranging family meals in brown bags, his job had come to an end. Arthur was one of the many grocery store employees that were either laid off or had their hours cut. But when Arthur showed up to collect his last paycheck, there was another one waiting for him. This check was for $7,166.  It was given to him by the many customers that he blessed at the grocery store with his delightful service.

When customer Bonnie Gervais asked for Arthur one day and learned that he was laid off, she and her teenage son kicked off a fundraiser to help their favorite bagger out. The response was more than they bargained for.

Many of the donors that gave to Arthur were customers that had experienced his kindness at the end of the check out line.

“It is always a joy to see Arthur at the end of the conveyor belt. He is always so sweet to my little son,” wrote one customer.

“I’ve been shopping at the Stratham store just a few years longer than you’ve been working there and I’ve always enjoyed seeing you and appreciate your courtesy.” Said a fellow co-worker.

“Arthur cried two or three times. He was very appreciative,” said the assistant store director Dean Clevesy. The money will help to ease the burden of Arthur’s bills. But he still can’t help himself and wants to get back to work. It seems as if Arthur wants to spend his entire life bringing smiles to faces.

Do you have the courage to spread this around unashamed?

Do you have the courage to spread this around unashamed?

  • Bonnie Jean Hern  I sure do. My question is if all these others want Christians to stop what they are doing, what about the ones complaining. Has it ever occurred to them that what they are doing is offensive to Christians? In this world everything that everybody does is going to offend someone else in some way or another. I guess the only way to have peace is for everybody to just kill themselves. That way there wouldn’t be anybody to offend anybody else and God could start humankind all over. Maybe then nobody would offend anybody else and there would be peace. Why can’t people just not pay attention to whatever it is that offends them and do what they believe is correct and let everybody live their life in peace. But for some reason there are always going to be trouble makers. At the rate we are going there isn’t going to be any world left for anybody to offend somebody else in. Come on people, live your own life and let other people live their life and stop causing problems for everybody. Sorry. I didn’t mean to write a book.

The above was my response to the post on Facebook. I find it really hard to accept that the government has gotten to the place that any time one faction complains about another faction, the faction being complained about loses one of their constitutionally given freedoms. Our Veterans fought for us to be able to enjoy our freedoms, not for one faction after another to keep taking them away from us. It’s getting so bad that pretty soon people won’t even be able to come out of their own house because their looks offend someone else.
Why do we adults have to be so petty? That’s all that it is. We are just being petty about nit picky things. As long as you can practice your religion or lack of religion, let the other guy practice his beliefs or lack there of. If you can’t eat pork but the other guy can, then don’t eat pork, but don’t take that joy away from the other person. People need to be more tolerant of each other.
If I don’t tell you to stop practicing ASHURA, where all of your men cut and mutilate their self and even cut their sons because it’s your religion, then don’t you tell me to stop eating pork or even showing pictures of pork. To me the practice of ASHURA is VERY OFFENSIVE, but I have not asked the government to make you stop practicing it. That is your religion and you have a right to practice it. I just need to make sure that I stay inside on that day so I won’t have to witness all of the blood shed. Like so, you need to stay away from where there is pork, or even pictures of it. Or you could just try to keep away from looking at it.
Here is an article from what I found on a Google search about ASHURA. Just look at how bloody and repulsive it is.

ASHURA: My favorite Muslim holiday, where Shiite Muslims celebrate in the streets by self-mutilating themselves

Ashura marks the death of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, the revered Imam Hussein in Karbala, Iraq 1,300 years ago.

Ashura, an optional fast day for Muslims, falls on Dec. 4-5, 2011. The word itself, ashura, means 10, and the holiday is the 10th day of the Islamic month of Muharram. The Islamic calendar is lunar, so the date of Ashura can vary depending on sighting of the moon.

Don’t try to come into my country illegally and then try to take away all of my freedoms. If you are going to do that and cannot find the power within yourself to just keep away from looking at my beliefs or hearing my practice them when I recite them, such as the Lord’s Pray, The Pledge of Allegiance, or singing the National Anthem, THEN GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM. You are not welcome here.
You know that if I came to your country and tried to have your government make ASHURA illegal, and you had to stop practicing it, then you would throw me out of your country as fast as you could. Why can’t you just be happy that you are even being allowed to stay here illegally as it is? Because you are an UNGRATEFUL ILLEGAL ALIEN that should not even be allowed out of your own country.
Don’t come to my country and try to make our children practice Muslim by you teaching it to them instead of the required curriculum. I don’t try to make your children learn Christianity by going into your schools and teaching it to them even though I am not supposed to. Just be happy to be allowed to practice your religion, and leave me alone to be able to live my life practicing what I believe in.
