No-Bake Energy Bites (Powerballs)

No-Bake Energy Bites (Powerballs)</p>
<p>1 cup dry oatmeal (not instant)<br />
2/3 cup toasted coconut flakes<br />
½ cup natural peanut butter or almond butter<br />
½ cup ground flax seed<br />
1/3 cup raw honey or pure maple syrup<br />
½ cup dark chocolate chips<br />
1 Tbs. chia seeds (optional) or substitute with sesame seeds.<br />
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract</p>
<p>Stir all ingredients in a medium bowl until thoroughly mixed.<br />
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for about ½ hour.<br />
Once Chilled, roll into 1” balls.<br />
Store in an airtight container & keep refrigerated for up to one week. </p>

Great information!! Cinnamon and Honey...! Drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon:

It is found that a mix of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also note honey as very effective medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects which is also a plus. Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, put it on toast instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol and could potentially save one from heart attack. Also, even if you have already had an attack studies show you could be kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of cinnamon honey strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients can benefit by taking one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken daily even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder....who knew?

UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also is said to clear stomach ulcers from its root.

GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

Ingredients:

– 2 apples

– 2 cinnamon sticks

– 1 liter of water

Preparation and use:

First wash the apples well, then cut them into thin slices – thin enough that you can put them into a bottle, and then together with cinnamon put them in a glass bottle, pour the water in it and put them in the fridge during the night. The next day you will have your ideal drink.

Use the content of the bottle during the day, and in the evening, pour new water for the next day. You can use one dose of this recipe for three days. On the fourth day put new apples and cinnamon. The ideal detox dose is no more than 35 days, after this period you should make a break of 10 days before you begin again.

Granny's Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce </p>
<p>• 4 cups (8 slices) cubed white bread<br />
• 1/2 cup raisins<br />
• 2 cups milk<br />
• 1/4 cup butter<br />
• 1/2 cup sugar<br />
• 2 eggs, slightly beaten<br />
• 1 tablespoon vanilla<br />
• 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg</p>
<p>Sauce Ingredients:<br />
• 1/2 cup butter<br />
• 1/2 cup sugar<br />
• 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar<br />
• 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream<br />
• 1 tablespoon vanilla</p>
<p>Directions for Pudding:<br />
Heat oven to 350°F. Combine bread and raisins in large bowl. Combine milk and 1/4 cup butter in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted (4 to 7 minutes). Pour milk mixture over bread; let stand 10 minutes.<br />
Stir in all remaining pudding ingredients. Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until set in center.<br />

Combine all sauce ingredients except vanilla in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens and comes to a full boil (5 to 8 minutes). Stir in vanilla.<br />

Crockpot Lasagna

RECIPE OF THE DAY: Crockpot Lasagna

Ingredients:
1 pound Ground Beef
Lasagna noodles
1 jar spaghetti sauce
1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions
Brown ground beef and drain. 
Spoon 1 Cup spaghetti sauce in bottom of 4 quart crock pot. 
Mix remaining sauce with beef. 
Place 2 uncooked lasagna noodles on sauce in crock pot. 
Spread 1/3 meat mixture on top of noodles. 
Spread 3/4 Cup cottage cheese over meat. 
Sprinkle 1/2 Cup mozzarella cheese over cottage cheese. 
Add another layer of uncooked noodles, 1/3 meat mixture, the remaining cottage cheese and 1/2 Cup mozzarella cheese. 
Place another layer of uncooked noodles, meat mixture, and mozzarella cheese. 
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over top. 
Cook on low for 4 hours.

If cooked much longer, it gets a bit well done.

Ingredients Related Tips

2 eggs
1/3 cup sour cream, plus more for serving
1 heaping cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons chopped chives
salt and black pepper, to taste
3 cups mashed potatoes

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Butter 8 – 9 of the wells of a cupcake pan – preferably nonstick.

In a medium mixing bowl whisk the eggs then whisk in the sour cream. Mix in both cheeses and the chives.

Taste the potatoes and season them with salt and pepper if needed. Add them to the bowl and mix well.

Spoon them into the pan filling the cups just to the top or a little below.
Bake 25 – 35 minutes until they pull away from the sides of the cup and are golden brown all over.

Remove from oven and let them cool 5 minutes in pan. Turn them out onto a platter. Serve with sour cream.

Peanut Butter Potato Candy

Peanut Butter Potato Candy

1/4 cup unseasoned mashed potatoes
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
1 (16 ounce) package confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar for dusting
1/3 cup peanut butter, or as needed

Combine mashed potatoes, milk, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl. Stir confectioners’ sugar into potato mixture until a dough consistency is reached. Refrigerate dough until chilled, about 1 hour. Sprinkle confectioners’ sugar on a cutting board or waxed paper.

Roll dough into a large rectangular shape on prepared surface. Spread enough peanut butter on top layer of dough to cover. Roll dough into a jelly roll shape; refrigerate roll for 1 hour. Slice dough into pinwheels to serve.

A Brilliant New Way To Peel Potatoes

I can honestly say I have never seen anyone attack a bag of potatoes like this brilliant Russian genius does in this video. Using just a few household items, he was able to expertly peel an entire bag of potatoes in a fraction of the time that it would’ve taken using the traditional method.

When he started with making your own power-drill-toilet-brush, we here at SFG were a bit skeptical. But, as soon as we saw the finished product, we couldn’t wait to share it.
This incredible video got us thinking: what other clever ways could someone peel a potato? For instance if you don’t have a spare (clean) toilet brush and power drill laying around. One trick we really liked requires only a bowl of ice water. Start by cooking your potatoes in boiling water. After they are cooked through, dump those spuds into a nearby bowl of ice water. You don’t want to freeze these suckers, so pull them out after a few seconds. This part of the process is basically so you can handle these piping hot potatoes in your hands. Then, all you have to do is carefully rub the potato in your hands and watch the skin slide right off with incredible ease.
