Stuff Onions In Socks

Whether a daily dose of onions is on your menu or not, after you learn this simple trick you’ll make sure you have onions always in reach.

Although onions are mostly considered a food to eat, these pungent vegetables actually have other uses that can change your life. And after you learn how onions can heal you by putting them in your socks, you’ll be blown away.

If you put onions in your socks and sleep with them at night, they can actually heal you of cold, flu, and fever-like symptoms. Not bad for a veggie we are all too familiar with.

Now that more people are hearing about this creative use of onions, they’re giving it a try for themselves.

“You have nothing to lose by giving the onion theory a try,” Jennifer Thompson, a blogger who peeled the layers off the trick to get to the bottom of it. Her readers who heard about it gave it a try and the results they reported are nothing short of amazing!

After writing about the healing powers of onions, Jennifer tweeted to her audience about the onion sock trick and got a massive response.

But how does this onion trick work? With more than 7,000 nerve endings in the feet that link to different bodily organs, reflexologists have long known the feet hold a secret to good health.

A Los Angeles-based homeopathic doctor, Dr. Lauren Feder advocates for the use of onions for their healing properties.

“For colds, an onion pouch in [a] room can help with congestion,” Dr. Feder suggested. “In addition to treating colds, onion socks can be used for earaches, teething, and bladder infections.”

If you’re ready to try it, you’ll need to cut up some onions, white or red both work, and attach them to your feet.

With the onions strapped in place put on your socks, elevate your feet, and get some sleep. The strong anti-bacterial and anti-viral benefits of the onion will help purify your body.

If you’re ready to try it, watch the video below and let us know if you do.

Improved blood sugar numbers in a once-weekly dose.

What is Trulicity™?

Trulicity is not an insulin. It’s a kind of medicine called a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It works like the GLP-1 hormone in your body. The body naturally releases GLP-1 after you eat to help control blood sugar. Trulicity helps your pancreas release insulin when your blood sugar is high. It can also limit how much sugar goes into your blood from your liver, and it slows the emptying of food from your stomach.

You only have to take Trulicity once a week. It works with your body all week to
help it release its own insulin just when it’s needed. Plus, Trulicity comes in an
easy-to-use pen.*

Trulicity pens come in 2 doses—one with a yellow label (0.75 mg), the other with
a blue label (1.5 mg). Your healthcare provider will tell you which is right for you.

*In a study, 94% of 128 people who used the Trulicity pen said it was easy to use.

How Trulicity can help.

Trulicity is a once-weekly medicine that comes in an easy-to-use, single-dose pen and can help lower your A1C and blood sugar numbers. It may even help you lose some weight.

Trulicity may help lower your numbers

If you have type 2 diabetes and pills aren’t keeping your numbers where they need to be, Trulicity could help make a difference. Using Trulicity once a week, along with the diet and exercise your healthcare provider recommends, can help get your blood sugar under control.

In studies, Trulicity helped people significantly reduce their A1C. Most people saw this occur within 6 months. In clinical trials, A1C reduction ranged from 0.7% to 1.6% when used alone or in combination with other diabetes medications. Plus, in a study, the higher dose helped 78% of people and the lower dose helped 66% get to the A1C goal of below 7%.

*Represents lower (0.75 mg) dose.

In some studies, most people taking Trulicity noted better blood sugar numbers before eating in the morning (fasting blood sugar).

Trulicity may even help you lose some weight

Trulicity is not a weight loss drug. While many people in clinical trials lost weight, some did gain a little weight. In a study, many people lost weight over the course of 6 months and then kept it off during the rest of the study. Of people who lost weight in clinical trials, the average weight loss was 2 pounds to 6 pounds.

Once-weekly dosing

Trulicity is designed to be taken once a week, which may help you fit it into your busy life. You can take Trulicity any time of day, with or without meals. Just pick which day of the week will be your Trulicity day and remember to keep taking it that day, every week. It works in your body all week, helping you get better A1C and blood sugar numbers.

The pen was designed with patients in mind

With Trulicity, there’s no need to mix or measure anything. You don’t have to attach, handle, or even see a needle. In a study, 94% of 128 people who used the Trulicity pen said it easy to use.

Works all week.

Trulicity™ (dulaglutide) is taken once a week. You can take Trulicity any time of day, with or without meals.

It is a good idea to take Trulicity on the same day each week. Choose a day of the week that works for your routine, then make that your Trulicity day. For example, you could choose to take it every Sunday morning. Then mark your calendar to help remind you to take Trulicity on that day, every week.

In a study, 94% of people said the Trulicity pen was easy to use.

Trulicity comes in 2 doses—one with a yellow label (0.75 mg), the other with a blue label (1.5 mg). Your healthcare provider will tell you which is right for you.

Watch how to use the Trulicity pen.

What happens if you miss a dose?

It’s a good idea to take Trulicity regularly on the same day of the week, every week. If you forget to take your dose on your usual day, here’s what to do.

When to take your dose:

  • Take the missed dose as soon as possible if there are at least 3 days (72 hours) until your next Trulicity day.

When to skip your dose:

  • Skip the missed dose if there are less than 3 days remaining and take your next dose on your regularly scheduled Trulicity day. Do not take 2 doses of Trulicity within 3 days of each other.

Indication and Limitations of Use: Trulicity is a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine to improve blood sugar (glucose) in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It should be used along with diet and exercise. Trulicity is not recommended as the first medication to treat diabetes. It has not been studied in people who have had inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). Trulicity should not be used by people with a history of severe gastrointestinal (GI) disease, people with type 1 diabetes, or people with diabetic ketoacidosis. It is not a substitute for insulin. It has not been studied with long-acting insulin or in children under 18 years of age.

Important Safety Information: Tell your healthcare provider if you get a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath while taking Trulicity. These may be symptoms of thyroid cancer. In studies with rats and mice, medicines that work like Trulicity caused thyroid tumors, including thyroid cancer. It is not known if Trulicity will cause thyroid tumors or a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) in people. Do not take Trulicity if you or any of your family members have ever had MTC or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Do not take Trulicity if you have had an allergic reaction to dulaglutide or any of the other ingredients in Trulicity. If you have symptoms of a severe allergic reaction while taking Trulicity, such as itching, rash, or difficulty breathing, stop taking Trulicity and get medical help right away.

If you have pain in your stomach area (abdomen) that is severe and will not go away, stop taking Trulicity and call your healthcare provider right away. The pain may happen with or without vomiting. It may be felt going from your abdomen through to your back. This may be a symptom of inflammation of your pancreas (pancreatitis).

If you are taking another medicine that can cause low blood sugar (such as insulin or a sulfonylurea) while taking Trulicity, your risk for getting low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) may be higher. Talk to your healthcare provider about low blood sugar and how to manage it.

In people who have kidney problems, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may cause a loss of fluids (dehydration). This may cause kidney problems to get worse.

Other medicines like Trulicity may cause severe stomach problems. It is not known if Trulicity causes or worsens stomach problems.

Tell your healthcare provider if you:

  • have or have had problems with your pancreas, kidneys, or liver.
  • have severe problems with your stomach, such as slowed emptying of your stomach (gastroparesis) or problems with digesting food.
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, or if you become pregnant while taking Trulicity. It is not known if Trulicity will harm your unborn baby.
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Trulicity passes into your breast milk. You should not use Trulicity while breastfeeding without first talking to your healthcare provider.
  • are taking other medicines including prescription, and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
  • are taking other medicines to treat diabetes, including insulin or sulfonylureas.

The most common side effects with Trulicity may include: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, decreased appetite, and indigestion. These are not all the possible side effects of Trulicity. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.

You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.fda.gov/medwatch or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

Hydrogen Peroxide – Medical Miracle

******************************************************************************

I will put this notice on my post from now on, every time that I copy a post from Facebook, so all of my readers will know that this is not my work, but that of someone else. This, like so many of my posts have, came from Facebook. This was from CancerTruth‘s photo, and was shared on Facebook by Jack Sparks.

******************************************************************************

HEALTH TIP: Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) ranks up there as one of the best household remedies. Hydrogen peroxide is one of the few “miracle substances” still available to the general public; it is safe, readily available, and dirt cheap. And best of all, it works!

Did you know that you probably had your first sip of hydrogen peroxide shortly after you took your first breath? That’s right… mother’s milk (especially colostrum) contains extremely high concentrations of H2O2. In light of the fact that we know that one of the main functions of mother’s milk is to activate and stimulate the immune system in the infant, the fact that it contains abnormally large amounts of H2O2 makes sense.

As far back as the early nineteenth century, hydrogen peroxide was widely used in medicine. Many bacterial diseases (including syphilis) responded to H2O2 when no other treatment was effective. In the early twentieth century, H2O2 was used to treat several common diseases, such as whooping cough, cholera, typhoid fever, ulcers, tuberculosis, and asthma. However, as the pharmaceutical industry began to develop expensive, new drugs, hydrogen peroxide was increasingly ignored and finally discarded as a treatment.

H2O2 stimulates natural killer (NK) cells, which attack cancer cells as they attempt to spread throughout the body. In the body’s immune response, hydrogen peroxide is released by T-cells to destroy invading bacteria, viruses and fungi. Blood platelets release hydrogen peroxide on encountering particulates in blood. In the large intestine, acidophilus lactobacillus produces H2O2 which keeps the ubiquitous candida yeast from multiplying out of control. When candida spreads out of the intestine, it escapes the natural control system and can gain a foothold in the organs of the body, causing what is called chronic fatigue syndrome.

During flu season, if the kiddos feel like they’re getting sick, we lay them down on their side and put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide into their ear. After a few seconds, the liquid will bubble, indicating that it is killing the infection. After 5 or 10 minutes, we turn them over and repeat on the other ear. No one yet fully understands the complete workings of hydrogen peroxide, but we do know that it is loaded with oxygen. We know that when H2O2 is taken into the body (orally or intravenously) the oxygen content of the blood and body tissues increases dramatically.

Hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a natural bleach to whiten clothes, as a spray to kill foot fungus, as a nasal spray to fight sinus infections, as an effective and inexpensive mouthwash, along with baking soda for natural toothpaste, and along with vinegar to create a non-toxic disinfecting agent. In tests run at Virginia Tech, the combination of H2O2 and vinegar (used as a spray mist) kills virtually all salmonella and E. coli bacteria on heavily contaminated food and surfaces.

Please remember that the hydrogen peroxide that is available at your local pharmacy (3% hydrogen peroxide) should NEVER be ingested orally, since it contains many stabilizers. The only grade recommended for internal use is 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide, which must be properly diluted down to 3% with water. I personally use hydrogen peroxide each night before bed as a rinse and also a natural teeth whitener.

The Top 3 COPD Treatments Revealed

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD, is a group of lung diseases that inhibit airflow to the lungs and make breathing difficult. The two most common conditions of COPD are emphysema and chronic bronchitis, and people with COPD can have both conditions at the same time. Both of these conditions cause irreversible damage to the lungs, but getting treatment early on can control symptoms and prevent further damage from occurring. Learn more about COPD, it’s most unexpected effects, and breakthrough treatments here before it’s too late:

In chronic bronchitis, the linings of the bronchial tubes become inflamed. Emphysema happens when the alveoli in the small air passages in the lungs are destroyed. Many people who have COPD don’t find out until symptoms become more severe in later stages, because they don’t know the warning signs and early symptoms to look for. Catching COPD early on offers the best chance at successful treatment, so if you or someone you love experiences any of the early signs or symptoms of COPD, talk to a doctor right away. Since symptoms don’t appear until lung damage has already occurred, treatment should begin immediately upon diagnosis of COPD.

The primary symptom of COPD is a chronic cough, defined as a cough that occurs for at least three months per year for two consecutive years. There are other symptoms that may indicate COPD, as well, including wheezing, tightness in the chest, shortness of breath (especially during physical activity), excess mucus in the lungs (especially in the morning), a blue tint to fingernail beds or lips, lack of energy, unexplained weight loss and frequent respiratory infections.

Although there is no cure for COPD, numerous treatment options are available to help patients live longer, more comfortable lives. When COPD is detected during the earlier stages of the disease, medical treatments and healthy lifestyle changes can often prevent the significant loss of lung function for several years. That said, of the 24 million Americans believed to have COPD, only half have discussed their symptoms with a doctor. The remaining people are putting themselves at greater risk by not receiving immediate treatment. Early COPD treatment is usually simple and highly effective, consisting of bronchodilators and other medications prescribed by your doctor.

The most important step of COPD treatment is to quit smoking. People who smoke cigarettes are more at risk of COPD than any other demographic, especially after smoking heavily for a number of years. Quitting smoking can reduce your risk of developing the disease while also protecting you from life-threatening episodes of COPD exacerbation. Unfortunately, the addictive qualities of cigarettes make this a very hard habit to break. Talk to your doctor if you need assistance with quitting smoking for good.

One of the best things you can do when dealing with COPD is educate yourself about your condition, so you clearly understand what COPD is, how it might affect you, and what your treatment options are. Following your prescribed treatment plan carefully is also necessary in successfully treating your symptoms and preventing further lung damage. Oftentimes, this means asking questions, when necessary, to make sure you fully understand your treatment plan. Think of your physician as a teammate in battling the symptoms of COPD, and keep the lines of communication with your doctor open.

Remember, the better you take care of yourself, the easier treating COPD symptoms will be. If you’re a smoker, quit smoking now. Begin an exercise regimen recommended by your doctor to help improve lung function, if possible, and make sure to eat a healthy diet and cut down on alcohol. You should also limit your exposure to airway irritants, such as second-hand smoke, air pollution and exposure to harsh chemicals or dust, as these can exacerbate COPD symptoms.

Top 16 Healing Home Remedies with Honey

******************************************************************************

I will put this notice on my post from now on, every time that I copy a post from Facebook, so all of my readers will know that this is not my work, but that of someone else. This, like so many of my posts have, came from Facebook. This was in Love Live Health in the health section.

Honey is more than just a delicious food product. This versatile natural substance has been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. It has therapeutic properties that can treat a range of ailments. Here are sixteen simple home remedies to help you heal your ills with honey.

 1. Cuts and Scrapes

cuts-and-scrapes-honey

Honey is antiseptic and antimicrobial. It can speed healing of minor wounds and help to prevent infection. After cleaning the wound, cover it with honey and apply a bandage. Change the dressing in the morning and before bedtime.

2. Coughs

coughs-honey-2

Studies have shown that honey can be just as effective as over-the-counter cough suppressants. Whisk together one cup of honey, three tablespoons of lemon juice and ¼ cup of warm water. Transfer the cough syrup to a jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator. Take by the tablespoon whenever a coughing fit strikes.

3. Cold sores

cold-sores-honey

Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Honey is rich in flavonoids and phenolic acid, compounds shown to combat the virus in laboratory tests. Dab honey onto cold sores four times a day to speed the healing process. Applying honey to the affected area as soon as you begin to feel tingling and soreness may help prevent an outbreak.

4. Eczema

eczema-honey

Eczema is a persistent inflammation of the skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of honey can help to decrease the symptoms while the anti-bacterial properties work to prevent infection. Apply honey over red, itchy scaly areas. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for twenty minutes, then gently rinse to remove the sticky residue.

5. Hiccups

Causes and Ways to Overcome Hiccups

Hiccups are caused by involuntary spasmodic contractions of the diaphragm. Both honey and castor oil have anti-spasmodic properties. Mix a tablespoon of honey with a tablespoon of castor oil. Swallow a teaspoonful every five minutes until the hiccups stop.

6. Dandruff

dandruff-honey

Many cases of dandruff are caused by a fungal yeast. The anti-fungal properties of honey can provide relief from itching and flaking. Mix together a solution of three parts honey to one part water. After shampooing, massage the diluted honey into the scalp. Allow it to work for twenty minutes before rinsing hair in warm water.

7. Acne

acne-honey

Honey and cinnamon both have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. They help to prevent acne outbreaks and reduce redness and swelling. Mix together one tablespoon of powdered cinnamon and two tablespoons of honey. Use your fingers to apply the mixture to your face, concentrating on acne-prone areas. Allow the ingredients to work for ten minutes before rinsing.

8. Burns

burn-kid-honey

Clinical trials have shown that burns treated with honey heal faster than those treated with conventional medical dressings. To care for mild to moderate burns, cool the affected area under cold running water and pat dry. Slather thick, set honey over the burn and onto the surrounding skin. Cover the honey-coated area in plastic wrap and secure it with a bandage.

9. Dry Skin

dry-skin-honey

Honey is a humectant and helps skin to retain moisture. Olive oil improves the skin’s suppleness and elasticity. Whisk together equal amounts of honey and olive oil until they emulsify into a cream. Simply massage the lotion into all areas of dry skin.

10. Athlete’s foot

athletes-foot-honey

Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection characterized by red, itchy, flakey skin on the feet. Honey has natural fungicidal properties. Before bedtime, rub a thick layer of honey over the affected area. Cover your sticky feet in an old pair of socks and keep them on overnight. Wash and dry your feet in the morning and repeat the procedure each night until the infection clears

11. Sore throat

sore-throat-honey

Honey coats the throat to soothe irritation. Capsaicin in cayenne pepper helps to reduce throat pain by stimulating the mucous membranes. Fill a mug with water and stir in a tablespoon each of honey and lemon juice. Add ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Heat the mixture in the microwave and slowly sip.

12. Sunburn

sunburn-honey

The humectant properties of honey help to keep moisture in sunburnt skin and the anti-inflammatory properties soothe redness, burning and irritation. Whisk together two cups of apple cider vinegar, one cup of water and ½ cup of honey. Transfer to a spray bottle and spritz over sunburnt areas for instant relief.

13. Acid Reflux

upset-stomach-honey

Acid reflux is a condition in which stomach acid enters the esophagus and damages its walls. Honey coats the lining of the throat to soothe the painful burning sensations caused by the acid. Because it is an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, it also helps to heal the mucus membranes. Simply swallow a teaspoon or two of honey when symptoms arise.

14. Dry, Damaged Hair

dry-damaged-hair-honey

Honey is a humectant and helps to hold moisture in the hair. Olive oil coats the hair shafts, providing smoothness and shine. To make a hair treatment, warm ½ cup of honey in the microwave and stir in ¼ cup of olive oil. Shampoo hair, then work the conditioner through it. Leave for ten minutes before rinsing with warm water.

15. Mouth Ulcers

mouth-ulcer-honey

A honey and turmeric salve can help to speed healing of mouth ulcers. Honey’s anti-microbial effects ward off infection, while turmeric acts as a natural antiseptic and cooling agent. Mix equal parts of honey and turmeric to form a thick paste. Use a cotton swab to apply it to the sore and leave for two minutes before rinsing your mouth. Continue the treatment twice daily until the ulcer is healed.

16. Insect Bites

honey

The anti-inflammatory properties of honey ease the redness and swelling associated with insect bites, while its antiseptic properties help to prevent infection. Baking soda calms itchiness and irritation. Create a paste by mixing together a tablespoon each of honey, olive oil and baking soda. Apply to the bite and cover with a bandage.

<p>Quite a few people say this works. Thought I would post it in case any of you have Restless Legs Syndrome or chronic leg cramps!</p>
<p>I saw an article in our local newspaper about 3 months ago about putting soap under the sheets for Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) and tried it immediately. Since that time I have not had a single leg cramp.</p>
<p>I went on a trip recently and had my bar of soap with me. I was staying at a B&B and when I got back that evening my soap was gone! I called the receptionist of the Hotel and asked him where my soap was. He told me he thought it was in the bed by mistake and had thrown it away. When I told him why I needed it he said that he would go and find it--which he did. He also told me that he, too, has leg cramps and was going to try this remedy.</p>
<p>My doctor just gave me this mystified look and said "whatever." He was the one raising such Sam Hill about me taking potassium!</p>
<p>What a wonderful, really inexpensive treatment that stops RLS.</p>
<p>NOTE: Unwrap the soap and put it under the fitted sheet near your feet area.</p>

Quite a few people say this works. Thought I would post it in case any of you have Restless Legs Syndrome or chronic leg cramps!

I saw an article in our local newspaper about 3 months ago about putting soap under the sheets for Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) and tried it immediately. Since that time I have not had a single leg cramp.

I went on a trip recently and had my bar of soap with me. I was staying at a B&B and when I got back that evening my soap was gone! I called the receptionist of the Hotel and asked him where my soap was. He told me he thought it was in the bed by mistake and had thrown it away. When I told him why I needed it he said that he would go and find it–which he did. He also told me that he, too, has leg cramps and was going to try this remedy.

My doctor just gave me this mystified look and said “whatever.” He was the one raising such Sam Hill about me taking potassium!

What a wonderful, really inexpensive treatment that stops RLS.

NOTE: Unwrap the soap and put it under the fitted sheet near your feet area.
