Addison Weast was only 16 months old when she was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries. The person who was supposed to be taking care of her, 24-year-old Cody Geddings, said that Addison had fallen from her bed and suffered injuries. However, hospital staff knew that the injuries Addison suffered from were caused by something much worse, so they called the police. Tragically, doctors were unable to save Addison’s life.Eventually, Geddings was charged with and convicted of killing Addison. During their investigation, police discovered that Geddings had an extremely violent history; he was charged with 2nd degree murder and is currently incarcerated. Though he was Addison’s step-father at the time of the incident, he and her mother have since gotten a divorce. Every 10 seconds an act of child abuse is reported in the United States, and the worst thing parents can do is ignore the problem when they see it happening. Don’t let Addison’s life have been taken in vain – report child abuse to keep this from happening again.
